CO₂ reduction with the Ecodigester

Demonstrable impact on Scope 1 & 3 emissions

With the Ecodigester, you immediately reduce your carbon footprint. By processing organic waste locally, you save emissions at your own site (Scope 1) as well as throughout the chain (Scope 3). This provides tangible value for your business, and environmental benefits.

Impact on Scope 1 and Scope 3 emissions by using the Ecodigester

Scope 1

Directly reduced emissions at your site

Less internal transport and storage → lower fuel emissions.
No rotting waste → no methane formation.
No waste discharge.
The Ecodigester can run on waste heat (high subsidy).

Result

Your direct emissions fall, with no extra effort.

Impact of the Ecodigester

The Ecodigester itself emits (virtually) no CO₂.
Reducing organic waste on site prevents it from rotting or being stored in a way that produces methane or other greenhouse gases.
If less residual waste is collected with diesel trucks, fuel-related Scope 1 emissions also decrease if transport is under own management.

Small contribution, but positive when using electric Ecodigester and reduced internal combustion or storage.

Scope 3

Large CO₂ savings in the chain

Annual savings: 17 tonnes of CO₂ per 100 tonnes of waste.
Local processing avoids emissions from fermentation, composting or incineration.
No transport to waste processor.
The final product replaces primary livestock feed raw materials (soya, cereals) → large agricultural savings.

Result

You avoid emissions in the chain and create additional climate impact.

Impact of the Ecodigester

Big impact here: residual streams are processed locally, so:

No external waste transport → less emissions
No digestion, incineration or external composting → less methane and CO₂
Conversion to animal feed means raw materials do not have to be produced elsewhere (think: cereals, soya → saving on agricultural emissions)
When selling the final product as feedstock to animal feed producers, you can in some cases count "avoided emissions": you avoid emitting CO₂ elsewhere.

Scope 3 savings can be significant, especially if a lot of waste was disposed of by conventional methods.

From obligation to opportunity

With the Ecodigester, CO₂ reduction becomes more than a reporting requirement: it is a distinctive sustainability story and a source of value creation.
